Bhagat Singh's Ancestral Home in Pakistan Preserved as a Historic Memorial, Tour Guide Clarifies Viral Photograph

Bhagat Singh's ancestral home in Banga village, now part of Faisalabad, Pakistan, has been preserved as a historic site showcasing photographs from his life and revolutionary struggle. A Pakistani tour guide also clarified misconceptions surrounding a viral photograph of the legendary freedom fighter, highlighting the enduring legacy of one of India's greatest martyrs.

The ancestral home of revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, located in Banga village of the former Lyallpur district—now Faisalabad in Pakistan—continues to stand as a preserved symbol of the Indian independence movement. Bhagat Singh was born there on September 28, 1907, and was executed by the British on March 23, 1931. He embraced martyrdom before the age of 24, securing his place as one of the most revered figures in the struggle for India's freedom.

The house where Bhagat Singh was born has reportedly been carefully preserved by local residents in Pakistan. The site now features photographs documenting his life, revolutionary struggle, family members, and close associates, reflecting efforts to protect the historical legacy associated with the iconic freedom fighter.

A Pakistani tour guide featured in a widely circulated video also addressed misconceptions surrounding one of Bhagat Singh's most frequently shared photographs. The image shows Bhagat Singh seated on a traditional cot while a man dressed in a white kurta sits beside him in conversation. According to the guide, the photograph is authentic and was taken at Lahore's Anarkali Station.

Responding to questions about the shackles visible on Bhagat Singh's hands in the image, the guide explained that the photograph was taken during his interrogation. He further stated that many people mistakenly believe Bhagat Singh was meeting his father in the picture. However, according to the guide, the man seated beside him was CID Inspector Pannu, who was attempting to persuade the revolutionary to abandon his resistance.
